Sunshine, Smiles, and the Last Lunch of the Year
As the school year comes to a close, Spring Lake students made the most of a perfect late-spring day—taking their final school lunches of the year outside to enjoy the sunshine, each other, and a well-deserved moment of pause.
Across the district, students stepped into the fresh air to celebrate the simple joys of food, friends, and freedom. First graders picnicked at Mill Point Park, spreading out blankets and sharing laughs as they soaked in the views and sunshine. At the intermediate school, students carried their trays outside, turning the familiar lunch routine into a mini celebration of the season.
Even at the high school, where students are immersed in final exams, there was space carved out for connection. With the sun shining and a soft breeze in the air, students stepped out between tests to recharge, reconnect, and take in a moment of calm before diving back into their studies.
These moments may seem small, but they speak volumes. They’re a reminder that learning doesn’t only happen inside four walls—and that some of the most meaningful school experiences come when we simply make space to be together. Sunshine and shared time have a way of lifting spirits and marking memories.
At Spring Lake Public Schools, we believe in nurturing the whole student. Whether through academics, the arts, athletics—or a lunch in the park—we’re proud to provide moments that help students thrive.
Here’s to a strong finish, and to the many bright days ahead. Go Lakers!
