STEM + Gym = Learning in Motion at Holmes Elementary
What happens when science meets movement? At Holmes Elementary, the answer is massive fun and hands-on learning! Recently, our STEM and Gym programs joined forces to create an action-packed experience where students explored important scientific concepts—while getting plenty of exercise along the way.
The Challenge:
Students didn’t just learn about push, pull, over, under, and force in theory—they experienced these principles firsthand by navigating an exciting obstacle course designed to bring science to life. Whether they were crawling under barriers, pushing through resistance, or pulling themselves to the next challenge, our young Lakers were applying physics concepts without even realizing it!
Why It Matters:
This innovative collaboration between STEM and Gym shows how learning can extend beyond the classroom and into physical activity. By combining movement with problem-solving, students not only reinforce key STEM concepts but also develop teamwork, critical thinking, and a love for active learning.
Holmes Elementary continues to provide dynamic opportunities where curiosity, creativity, and movement collide—because at Spring Lake, we believe that learning happens everywhere.
Great job to our educators for designing such a creative and engaging experience!
We love seeing our Lakers in action!
