Spring Lake Lacrosse Honors the Legacy of Jarred Coleman
Recently, the Spring Lake lacrosse program gathered to honor the life and legacy of Jarred Coleman, a former player whose spirit continues to shape the team today. Through the Jarred Coleman Memorial Run, players, coaches, and community members came together to remember a young man whose dedication, leadership, and heart left a lasting impact.
Jarred tragically lost his life after being hit by a drunk driver, but his presence remains deeply felt within the program. The memorial run is more than just a tribute—it’s a growing tradition that unites past and present players in purpose and pride. It serves as a powerful reminder that the values Jarred embodied continue to guide the team on and off the field.
One of the most meaningful aspects of this tradition is the honoring of jersey #22. Each season, the team selects a player who best reflects Jarred’s legacy to wear his number. This recognition has become a symbol of not only athletic commitment but also character, leadership, and heart.
Though many of today’s players were young—or not yet part of the program—when Jarred passed, his story has been passed down with care and reverence. His memory continues to inspire every sprint, every huddle, and every game.
The Spring Lake lacrosse community is proud to keep Jarred’s legacy alive through this event and through the way the team plays and supports one another each season.
Thank you to all who participated and remember. Your commitment ensures that Jarred’s story will never be forgotten.
Go Lakers. ❤️
