Spring Lake Cafeteria Serves Up Creativity and Flavor--and Curriculum
The Spring Lake Foods Department has been keeping things fresh, exciting, and absolutely delicious in the cafeteria! Their dedication to providing a variety of flavorful and nutritious meal options continues to impress, and recent offerings were no exception—giving students a couple standout dishes.
On the Menu:
Sushi Bowl – Fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor, this option brought a taste of something new to our students. Perfectly balanced and full of goodness, it’s no wonder the sushi bowl was a popular pick! The Foods Department reports that it was successful enough to bring it back to the high school regularly.
Pasty – A warm and hearty classic that’s not only a comforting meal but also a connection to Michigan history. Fun fact: pasty-making is part of the 3rd-grade Michigan curriculum at Spring Lake! Each year, our 3rd graders learn the art of making their own pasties while exploring the rich cultural heritage behind this beloved dish. They make their own in the morning and then get to eat them for lunch.
The creativity and care that our Foods Department puts into these offerings not only nourish our students but also provide unique learning opportunities through food.
A huge shoutout to our incredible cafeteria team for going above and beyond to keep things fresh, fun, and delicious! We can’t wait to see what’s cooking next!
