Spring Lake Bus Drivers Take on the ROADeo
This past weekend, Spring Lake Public Schools was proudly represented at the Michigan Area Pupil Transportation Region 8 2025 School Bus ROADeo, where twelve of our dedicated bus drivers put their skills to the test in a thrilling competition.
The event challenged drivers with a demanding obstacle course featuring ten intricate maneuvers designed to assess precision, control, and mastery behind the wheel. With over 60 competitors vying for a coveted Top 5 spot—and the chance to advance to the state championship next month—every participant had to bring their best to the challenge.
In an inspiring display of commitment, seven of our twelve drivers were first-year competitors, making their debut as ROADeo rookies! Their dedication to training was evident, as they spent the three weeks leading up to the event refining their techniques on Spring Lake’s own custom-built obstacle course. Their hard work paid off, proving that determination and preparation make all the difference.
Beyond the competition itself, six of our incredible bus drivers and aides stepped up to serve as judges, ensuring the event ran smoothly and fairly. Their expertise and support underscored the strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie that defines Spring Lake Public Schools.
We applaud all our drivers for their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence. Whether competing or judging, their contributions showcased the skill, professionalism, and dedication that make Spring Lake’s transportation team second to none.
Congratulations to all who participated—we’re proud to have such an exceptional team on the road, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our students every day!
