Learning in Leadership: Our Educators Engage in Dyslexia Summit
At Spring Lake Public Schools, we believe that great leadership starts with continuous learning. This week, several staff members participated in a virtual summit on dyslexia. This event brought together professionals from across Michigan to deepen their understanding of dyslexia and explore best practices for academic and emotional support.
With "watch parties" happening all over the state, this summit emphasized the importance of equipping educators, administrators, and interventionists with evidence-based strategies to help students with dyslexia thrive. Topics included integrating academic, social-emotional, and behavioral supports within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, ensuring that every student has access to the resources they need for success.
The summit reinforced a key belief in our district: leaders are learners. As administrators, counselors, teachers, and specialists, we recognize that the more we grow, the better we can serve our students. By engaging in professional development like this, we continue to refine our approach to literacy instruction, intervention, and student support.
At Spring Lake Public Schools, we are proud of our educators' dedication to lifelong learning. Their commitment to professional growth ensures that we remain at the forefront of effective, research-based practices.
