The Spring Lake High School auditorium is about to be traded for a "Circus" of high-energy dance, modern wit, and a soundtrack that has defined pop culture for two decades. This year, the SLHS Theatre Department is bringing the bold, revisionist fairytale Once Upon a One More Time to the stage, and tickets are officially on sale now.

While the curtain may rise on familiar faces like Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, this is far from your average "happily ever after." The story is about a witty, empowering journey as the classic damsels begin to question the distress in their stories and decide it’s finally time to redefine their own destinies.

The production is powered by 23 chart-topping hits from the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears. From the driving rhythm of "Toxic" to the iconic beats of "Oops!… I Did It Again," the show functions as both a high-octane dance party and a meaningful exploration of agency and identity. It is a production that asks our students—and our audience—what happens when you stop following a script written by someone else and start writing your own.
