Celebrating Our Operations Team: The Backbone of a Strong Start

The first days of a new school year are filled with excitement—students meeting their teachers, reconnecting with friends, and settling into new routines. But behind the scenes, an entire team is working tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly. At Spring Lake Public Schools, that team is our Operations staff, and a couple weeks into the year, it’s clear just how essential their work has been.

From the moment students step onto a bus in the morning to the moment they arrive back home, the Operations team is there. Our transportation staff safely move thousands of students each day, making sure everyone arrives where they need to be, on time and with a friendly smile.

Once at school, our food service staff keep students fueled and ready to learn. Whether it’s breakfast before class or lunch in the middle of a busy day, their dedication ensures that no child goes without the nourishment they need to succeed.

And then there’s the work that’s harder to see, but just as important. Our maintenance and custodial crews keep our buildings safe, clean, and welcoming, while our grounds team makes sure every corner of our campuses reflects the pride we take in our schools. A tidy, well-cared-for environment sets the tone for the year, and their efforts make a difference for every student and staff member who walks through our doors.

The first few weeks of school are always a test of preparation and teamwork, and our Operations staff have more than risen to the occasion. Their commitment, attention to detail, and care for students create the foundation for learning to happen.
