A Week of Pro Power: Special Guests Bring Energy, Inspiration, and Fun to Spring Lake
Spring Lake Public Schools recently had a week to remember as a lineup of professional sports guests brought excitement, energy, and inspiring messages to our students. From hockey heroes to baseball mascots and high-flying basketball performers, each visit offered a unique blend of fun and life lessons.
The week kicked off with a visit from the Muskegon Lumberjacks, who brought their A-game to Spring Lake Intermediate School. Players joined students on the playground for fast-paced fun during recess, then took time to share stories and talk about the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and kindness—on and off the ice.
Next up: a surprise appearance from Crash, the beloved mascot of the West Michigan Whitecaps! Crash stopped by to celebrate student readers, spreading positivity with high-fives, silly antics, and lots of encouragement. His visit served as a fun reminder that reading is not only important—but also a hit with local celebrities.
To close out the week, the Detroit Pistons Hype Team delivered a show-stopping performance, complete with gravity-defying dunks and powerful words about resilience and respect. Their message? That dedication, positive attitudes, and simple courtesies like “please” and “thank you” matter just as much as athletic talent.
These visits weren’t just about entertainment—they were about showing students what it means to work hard, lift others up, and stay committed to personal growth. The impact was felt across all grade levels, and the smiles told the story best.
A huge thank you to the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Crash and the West Michigan Whitecaps, and the Detroit Pistons Hype Team for helping us make memories, spark motivation, and remind our students that greatness comes in many forms.
