If your are an aspiring author, apply for the Jonas C. Saunders Literary Award, which is being offered by the Spring Lake Schools Foundation. Grades 9-12 are eligible to apply. Your writing submission has a 5,000 word limit and may be fiction or non-fiction. Get a fact sheet and other entry rules in the guidance office. The deadline is Monday, April 16th.
Track Athletes can apply for the Current Surfaces Track Athlete Scholarship of $1,000. Minimum 2.0 g.p.a, a transcript, a letter from your coach, and a letter from a non-family member are required. Get an info sheet and application today! The deadline is April 23rd.
The Alpha Kappa Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering $1,000 to women who are pursing a career in education. If you plan to enter a career in law, government, or a related area, you can apply for the Elise Joy Frantz Scholarship. The Ottawa Bar Association sponsors this award of $1,500. Selection criteria include: interest in government, civics, economics, or social studies…a minimum 3.0 g.p.a., good moral character, participation in special interest or law-related activities, and a recommendation from a teacher of the classes listed above.
The deadline is April 16th, 2012. Applications are in the Guidance Office.
The American Legion Post 28 Gene Rothi Scholarship applications are now available in the G.O. You must be a direct descendent of a Post 28 member to qualify. A completed application, typed essay, and transcript must be received on or before the deadline of April 20, 2012.
The Vietnam Veterans of America offer yearly scholarships of $1,000. To qualify, your parent or grandparent must be a veteran. Application packets can be picked up in the G.O. An essay, letters of recommendation, a counselor form and transcript are required. The deadline is April 28, 2012.
