Heart Screenings

The cardiovascular pre-participation athlete screenings attempt to identify any pre-existing heart conditions that could potentially increase a student's risk of vigorous physical activity and/or athletic competition.

Student Athlete Heart Screenings are a six-step process that take place at Mercy Health Partners' Mercy H.E.A.R.T. Center (New Location) and are completed in approximately 15 minutes.

Your child's records will be reviewed by a cardiologist within a few days. Within 10 days, you will receive either a letter indicating your child is at low risk or a request for further screening with a follow-up Echocardiogram.
